Find the finish for your floor

  1. Epoxy floor coatings

I apply epoxy over prepared concrete to create a continuous protective surface.

A good fit for garages, workshops, and commercial spaces with daily wear.

  2. Metallic epoxy flooring

I use metallic pigments in epoxy to create flowing patterns with depth and shine.

Best suited to climate-controlled interiors, including living spaces and showrooms.

  3. Flake epoxy systems

I embed colored flakes in epoxy and seal them with a clear topcoat for a textured finish.

A good fit for garages, covered patios, and workshops where added traction matters.

  4. Concrete polishing

I grind and refine the existing concrete to create a smooth finish without covering the slab.

Best suited to sound concrete in shops, offices, and modern home interiors.

  5. Garage floor coatings

I apply a coating system selected for vehicle use and exposure to automotive fluids.

A good fit for home garages used for parking, storage, or working on vehicles.

  6. Concrete floor refinishing

I prepare worn concrete, repair surface damage, and apply a new protective finish.

Best suited to structurally sound slabs with surface wear, stains, or minor damage.

How I coat your floor

  1. Check the concrete

I inspect the slab and discuss how you use the space before recommending a coating.

  2. Grind and prepare

I grind the concrete to remove old coatings and prepare the surface for bonding.

  3. Repair cracks and joints

I fill cracks and joints as needed before applying the coating.

  4. Apply primer

I apply the primer selected for your concrete and coating system.

  5. Build the finish

I apply the base coat and add flakes or metallic effects if you've chosen them.

  6. Add the protective topcoat

I finish with a protective topcoat suited to how you use the floor.

Coastal humidity and salt affect coating choices, so I test for moisture and assess whether your slab needs a vapor barrier.

FAQ

FAQ

How does coastal humidity affect epoxy?

Moisture vapor can interfere with adhesion when concrete is not properly prepared. Moisture testing and vapor barriers help prevent the coating from separating from the concrete.

What is the difference between metallic and flake epoxy?

Metallic epoxy has a glossy, marble-like finish with flowing color patterns. Flake epoxy contains decorative chips that add texture and slip resistance, making it a better fit for garages and areas where traction matters.

What preparation does my garage floor need?

Preparation includes grinding, crack repair, moisture testing, and removal of oil stains. Coastal properties often need vapor barrier primers because of moisture in the ground.

Will flake epoxy hide cracks?

The textured, multicolor finish helps hide minor surface imperfections. Larger cracks need repair before I apply the coating.

How does epoxy handle oil and tire marks?

Epoxy creates a nonporous barrier that keeps oil from penetrating the concrete, so spills stay on the surface and wipe clean. The coating also resists automotive fluids, brake dust, and road salt.

Can you apply epoxy over old paint or coatings?

Old paint, sealers, and epoxy must be fully removed by grinding. I expose and profile the bare concrete so the new coating can bond properly.

What happens during a free on-site estimate?

I’m Phil Smith, and I measure the space, inspect the concrete, and test for moisture issues. I review preparation and repair needs, discuss colors and finishes with you, and provide a written quote.

Can metallic epoxy work in a garage?

Yes, metallic epoxy works in garages as well as interior living spaces. It provides a chemical-resistant finish with a glossy, marble-like appearance.
